This competition giant pumpkin seed came from a pumpkin that was 868 pounds and nearly 14 1/2 feet around in measurement.  The seed that grew the 868 pounder came from the same pumpkin that grew the former world record 1,810 pound pumpkin in 2010.  The pollinator plant was grown from a seed that came from a 1,544 pound pumpkin.  It doesn't take a geneticist to figure out that this cross has the potential to grow you a giant pumpkin!  Maybe the next world record?!
